Various religious activities are being held to further glorify this blessed month of Ramadhan. The Ministry of Education and the departments under it, this afternoon held a Reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil for His Majesty's late parents, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit at the Royal Mausoleum.

The group was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education. Reading of Surah Yasin and Doa Tahlil was led by Awang Haji Ahmad Tarmizi bin Haji Md Daud, the Imam of University Brunei Darussalam Mosque. Also present was Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education. This annual event is conducted jointly by the Department of Curriculum Development, the Department of Co-curriculum Education and Brunei Technical Education Institute. Over 250 government officers and staff of the Ministry of Education and departments under it attended the ceremony.
