The month of Ramadhan contains within it rewards and blessings, where there is bound to be a night that is more rewarding than a thousand months. It is now less than ten days before Ramadhan ends and it is in these final nights that Muslims will be rewarded with a night full of secrets and enlightenment called Lailatur Qadar or the Night of Decree.
The pursuit for Lailatur Qadar in the final ten nights of Ramadhan has not ended and Muslims are encouraged to continue increasing their acts of worship towards Allah the Almighty. The rewards for carrying out acts of devotion during this particular night is said to be multi-folds. Among the greatness of Lailatul Qadar is a night where Allah Subhanahu Wataala will forgive the sins of those who carry out their acts of devotion sincerely with the hope of receiving the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu Wataala.
Among the acts of worship that can be carried out is the Terawih prayer, which is a highly commendable prayer in the month of Ramadhan. Aside from this, performing other acts such as supplicating, reciting Istighfar, reading Al-Quran, reciting the Zikir and Selawat, Qiyamulail are also advisable. As we enter these final 10 nights, it is good to increase our acts of devotion with the hopes of meeting with Lailatul Qadar which is full of blessings and bounties.
No one knows when the Lailatul Qadar is going to happen. However, there are several signs such as a quiet night atmosphere full of calmness, fresh as well as being neither hot nor cold. These conditions are said to persist until dawn. Meanwhile, in the morning the sun will rise with a white hue and not transmitting light or rays. What is certain to us is that the special night occurs in the final 10 nights of Ramadhan.
As we make preparations for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, it is important for us to seize every opportunity provided by Allah, by increasing our acts of devotion while we still can in this blessed month of Ramadhan. Let us make this Ramadhan a trigger that will bring about big changes to ourselves and soften our hearts and souls to always carry out the commanded deeds and leaving those which are restricted by Allah Subhanahu Wataala. Hopefully our fasting and other good deeds throughout Ramadhan will be rewarded and received by Allah Subhanahu Wataala.
