During the blessed month of Ramadan, reading Al-Quran until Khatam marking the completion of reading 30 juzu is among the commendable religious deeds that are much encouraged. Late this afternoon, the Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque Youth Group held such a ceremony.

Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony commenced with mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin. It was followed by the reading of A-Quranic verses and Tahtim.

The ceremony also coincided with the presentation of donation to 71 orphans and 5 single mothers from the village and nearby area.
