​ His Majesty Bestowed Personal Gifts to Recipients

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam today bestowed personal gifts to 10 thousand 58 recipients from among selected groups in the Brunei Muara and Belait districts in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The presentation of His Majesty's personal gifts was officiated, this morning by His Majesty's personal representatives comprising His Majesty's son and daughters. In the Brunei Muara district, the presentation of the personal gifts of His Majesty to 7 thousand 400 individuals, was held at the Reception Hall and Baitur Rahmah of Istana Nurul Iman.

 

Present at the Reception Hall of Istana Nurul Iman to hand over the personal gifts of His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness and Yang Amat Mulia were greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs and wife; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education and wife.

 

The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.

 

Meanwhile at Baitur Rahmah of Istana Nurul Iman, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah handed over the personal gifts of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the recipients.

 

Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrain bin Abdullah, Minister of Development and wife.

 

The recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat were led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

The recipients of His Majesty's personal gifts comprise those from selected groups among them, special needs individuals and orphans. The presentation of His Majesty's personal gifts is the 8th time to be held and is a continuation of similar ceremonies held in previous years. The presentation of His Majesty's personal gifts was first held in 2010.

 

His Majesty's caring attitude is not only reserved to Muslim citizens and residents, but also to non-Muslims. His Majesty's generosity and sincerity in bestowing the gifts equally regardless of religion and race, certainly strengthens unity and harmony among communities in the country. The presentation of His Majesty's personal gifts will undoubtedly bring joy to the recipients in together celebrating the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which is now only a few days away.
