Road Users Are Reminded to Take Extra Caution and Obey the Road Rules and Law

The members of the public are urged to practice tolerance while driving on the road, especially during the upcoming hari raya aidilfitri celebration. An interview with the Minister of Communication during the 'Kempen Beringat-Ingat Keselamatan Jalan Raya', or Be Alert Road Safety Campaign this morning has reminded drivers and road users to take extra caution and obey the road rules and laws to avoid any undesirable things to happen.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat also reminded the road users at ensuring that their car are in safe and good condition especially to those who are travelling back and forth to Belait district and overseas.

 

The campaign was held simultaneously at three locations in Brunei Muara district and two in Belait district. The Minister of Communications headed the campaign in Centrepoint Hotel vicinity, Gadong. Also involved was Pg Mohd Jefri bin Pg Hj Abd Hamid, the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police. This year's campaign was held with the distribution of hari raya cards and souvenirs as well as guideline leaflets to the road users.

 

Meanwhile, at the Giant Rimba Supermarket vicinity, the campaign was led by Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications in his capacity as the Chairman of the National Road Safety Council and was participated by Senior Superintendent of Police Awang Radin Jofri bin Radin Mas Basiuni, the Acting Director of Investigation and Traffic Control Department, Royal Brunei Police Force.

 

Leading the campaign at the Times Square Shopping complex in Berakas were Doctor Haji Supry bin Hji Awang Ladi, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Acting Director of Land Transport as the Deputy Second Chairman of the National Road Safety Council.

 

The annual campaign aimed to provide message to the public specifically the road users to enhance extra caution on the road as well as practicing courteous driving for the safety and well-being of other road user in the country. The campaign was organised by the National Road Safety Council.
