An Executive Director of a Car Dealership Fined for Abetting Corruption

An Executive Director of Maju Motors Sendirian Berhad, Chan Key Hong was fined $10,000.00 or ten months imprisonment in default after being found guilty by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court to one charge under Section 109 read with Section 165 of Penal Code (chapter 22).
Investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau revealed that Chan Key Hong on the 30th of August 2011 abetted two public servants, namely Planning Inspectors with the Town and country Planning Department, Ministry of Development, Brunei Darussalam, Zamri bin Haji Jaludin and Pengiran Haji Baharuddin bin Pengiran Haji Md Tahir to accept $90.00. The money was accepted by Zamri and Pengiran Haji Baharuddin from Chan Key Hong without consideration or for a consideration which they knew to be inadequate from Chan Key Hong whom they both knew to have a connection with their official functions as the Planning Inspectors at Maju Motos Sendirian Berhad. Meanwhile, the case against Zamri and Pengiran Haji Baharuddin will reconvene on 4th of July 2017 at 2 in the afternoon to fix trial dates.
