Last Minute Preparations before Hari Raya Aidilfitri

 June 26th, 2017  |  08:54 AM  |   903 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The rush in preparing to celebrate the Day of Victory for Muslims is now more evident than ever. Shopping malls will usually be full of people this time around as they make last minute errands for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Various needs, ranging from food and clothing to house decorations, are offered on sale.

The joy in celebrating the Aidilfitri festivity can be clearly seen from the atmosphere at several shopping malls and centres in the Brunei Muara district, which are full of people still looking to buy essential items such as food and drinks. Items of especially high demand during the festive season can be seen filling the shelves of shopping malls and department stores. Some stores also had to make an extra room outdoor to store the new stocks.

Hari Raya Aidil Fitri is not only a time to receive visits from guests, but is also a time to strengthen relations among family and friends who we rarely meet during normal days. Hari Raya is also a way to display happiness and victory for Muslims after having carried out the third Pillar of Islam. However, Islam also teaches its ummah to always spend in moderation, avoid being wasteful, prioritise only buying our needs and spending within our means.
