Cannon Shots Welcoming The Syawal

Brunei Darussalam welcomes the 1st of Syawal with cannon shots fired this afternoon in Bandar Seri Begawan.

 

 

 

Twelve cannon shots were fired at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in the capital by the Military Police of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. The forty-two personnel were led by Major Mohd Alimin Bin Haji Subohi, the Commanding Officer of the Guards Branch of the RBAF Military Police. The Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration will begin with the Sunnat Hari Raya prayers at all mosques and suraus in the country tomorrow, commencing at half-past seven in the morning. In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, Istana Nurul Iman will be opened to the public for three days starting the second day of Hari Raya. The palace will be opened starting at 10 in the morning until 12 noon, and from 2 until 4 in the afternoon to enable members of the public to greet His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as other royal family members.
