Top Story: Reds tell PSG to dig deep for Philippe

Philippe Coutinho has attracted plenty of attention with his dazzling performances for Liverpool, and Barcelona have been linked with the Brazil international in recent weeks.

But now the Mirror reports that Paris Saint-Germain have come knocking on the Anfield door to ask about Coutinho, only to be told any deal would cost them almost £90 million.

It says the deposed French champions "are looking to make a move for Coutinho this summer," and although Barca also maintain an interest, "the Catalan side have had a more long-term approach to convincing him."

And the Times reports that RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita is set to hold talks with the Bundesliga club after Jurgen Klopp "told Liverpool to step up their pursuit of the Guinea international."

The Times says Liverpool "will make contact with Leipzig again and test their resolve that the 22-year-old, valued at £70m, is not for sale."

Gunners set to net Lacazette

It's been quite a couple of days for Arsenal. First came reports that they would table an outlandish £125m offer for Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, and now it seems long-term target Alexandre Lacazette is on his way to London.

ESPN FC reports that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Lacazette, and it would see them break their club record.

The France international will move for somewhere between €45 and €50 million, surpassing the £42.5m spent on Mesut Ozil in 2013. The deal could be completed in the next 48 hours with Lacazette due to arrive for a medical as Arsenal look to bring an end to a transfer saga that began last summer.

Meanwhile, Italian outlet Calciomercato reports more Gunners news, saying they will soon announce the signing of Leicester playmaker Riyad Mahrez, who had such a key role in the Foxes' title success.

Conte hoping for Sandro breakthrough

Chelsea are optimistic that their attempts to sign £60m-rated Juventus full-back Alex Sandro will leap forward on Monday after more talks, according to the Telegraph.

It says the Premier League champions "are aiming to clinch a hat trick of transfer deals worth £125m for Sandro, Roma central defender Antonio Rudiger and Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this week."

First on the agenda will be Sandro, with the Telegraph saying "sources close to the player have confirmed he is interested in the prospect of moving to the Premier League and believe the Blues hold a slight advantage over rivals," who include PSG.

As far as Chelsea outgoings are concerned, midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is likely to leave on loan for the new season, with Newcastle and Brighton leading the chase.

Tap-ins

- The Telegraph reports that John Terry is going to be an Aston Villa player "in a huge coup for Steve Bruce" that could be confirmed on Monday.

Terry, the paper reports, has agreed to sign on an initial 12-month deal, choosing a move to the Midlands "after rejecting at least 10 offers from around the world" following negotiations over recent days.

- Ajax defender Mitchell Dijks could be on his way to Birmingham City after being left out of the Netherlands club's preseason training camp, according to the Birmingham Mail.

It says full-back Dijks, who played on loan for Norwich last season, is a target for Harry Redknapp, who has said he wants to revamp his defence after last season's relegation battle
