Three Lao Students To Complete In The World MOSWC Championship

 Three Lao students representing the country will complete in the World Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) 2017.

 

The competition will be held at the USA from 30 July to 2 August 2017, drawing students from 86 countries worldwide.

 

In Lao PDR, the competition on using Microsoft Office for secondary school students is called “MS World 2013, MS Excel 2013 and PowerPoint 2013”.

 

The winner of the MS World 2013 was Kenphonelanin Kingkeo from the National University of Laos.

 

The winner of the PowerPoint 2013 was Tony Bouttathep from Phonsavanh Secondary school in Savannakhet province and the MS Excel 2013 winner was Oudomsavanh Xayavong.

 

The three winners of the MS World 2013, MS Excel 2013 and PowerPoint 2013 were each awarded 5 million kip and given a certificate from Microsoft, as well as a medal from the Ministry of Education and Sports.

 

The prize awarding ceremony for Lao students was held at the National University of Laos in Vientiane Capital on June 30, with the prizes awarded by Sengdeun Lachanthaboun, Minister of Education and Sports.

 

The three winners will leave for the MOSWC 2017 in California at the end of this month.

 

The winners of the MOSWC 2017 will be awarded US$7,000 (57 million kip).
