BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
A Malaysian man was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for two offences under the Immigration Act. For his first offence, Yew Keng Wei was sentenced to 3 months of imprisonment and 3 strokes of cane after entering the country without a valid immigration pass.
Meanwhile, Yew Keng Wei was also sentenced to one year imprisonment for his second offences after re-entering the country without a written permission from the Immigration Controller after being expelled legally. Yew Keng Wei was apprehended by the Law Enforcement Unit of the Immigration and National Registration Department officers during the 'operasi Kekang' JIPK 52/2017 at a restaurant in Kampung Beribi, Gadong.
