Seagull Steals Fish From Puffin’s Mouth Mid-Flight

Seagulls have long been stealing food from us humans but now it seems they’ve moved on to puffins.

Incredible pictures showed one of the birds trying to snatch fish from its rival’s mouth while they were both flying over the Farne Islands National Nature Reserve.

The black crested Sea Gull and puffin were pictured viciously fighting each other for the kippers off the Northumberland coast.

‘This was one an amazing moment,’ said Neo Ng, a freelance photographer from Hong Kong who caught the incident on his camera.

He added: ‘The puffin was coming back from sea with a mouth full of fish.

‘Usually a puffin would be able to escape because of their speed but this time the wind changed and it lost its momentum.

‘That was the only reason I was able to get the shots.’

Following a struggle the seagull managed to steal the fish but lost most of them while he was getting away.

In the end he was only left with one.

Hopefully this will mean they stop stealing food from us humans when we go to the beach.

We doubt that will happen though.
