Gleneagles Jerudong Park Medical Centre, GJPMC today celebrates its 15th anniversary with the official opening of a new cardiac care unit, CCU. The function was held yesterday at Gleneagles JPMC in Jerudong. The new unit was officiated by Dato Seri Paduka Doktor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance.
The unit is a continuous effort of Gleneagles JPMC in providing high standards of cardiac care and services in the region. The new facility which is equipped with 8 beds allows GJPMC to expand its capacity, better manage patient flow and streamline its services. Established on the 15th of July 2002, GJPMC has worked closely with the Ministry of Health in providing tertiary cardiac services to cardiac patients in the country. GJPMC has also been at the forefront of medical innovation and technology from the first coronary stenting and coronary artery bypass graft surgery performed in 2003 to the surgical implantation of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) in a patient with severe heart failure in 2014 and the more recent trans-catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in 2016, a procedure which did not require open heart surgery.
