2 Local Companies Fined Over Tax Evasion

Two local companies were ordered to pay fines by the Magistrate's Court yesterday after its representatives pleaded guilty to failure of paying income tax.

 

Syarikat Noor Laila Jaya (Enterprise) (B) Sendirian Berhad was fined BND$4,000 for failing to file the income tax returns for the years ended December 31 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

 

Twowinns Supplies & Services Sendirian Berhad was fined BND$3,200 for failing to file the income tax returns for the years ended December 31 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

 

Chief Magistrate Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Dato Kefli gave both companies one week to settle the fine and ordered for the seizure of the companies' assets in the event of failure to pay the fine.

 

DPP Amiriah Haji Ali prosecuted the case.
