Health Briefing Session for Intending Pilgrims for the Year 1438/2017

Intending Haj Pilgrims need to know the health care tips and guidelines before and while they are performing the Haj in the holy land in order for them to stay fit and healthy. As a preparation for intending haj pilgrims, a Health Briefing Session for this year's haj pilgrims was held yesterday. The briefing entitled "Health Care and Medical Service in the Holy Land," was delivered by Doctor Muhammad Nurhasanuddin bin Abdullah Kelali, a Consultant at the Ministry of Health, as the Head of the Medical Haj Management Team, and Doctor Mahmud Shauqi bin Mahmud Saedon, a Medical Officer at the Ministry of Health. Meanwhile, the Health Briefing for the intending women pilgrims was presented by Doctor Nourul Hayati Azrina binti Haji Jaman and Doctor Hafizati binti Mohamad Jaya, Medical Officers at the Ministry of Heath. The briefings touched on health regulations and guidelines stipulated for intending pilgrims before, during their stay in the holy land until they return. All intending pilgrim must ensure that their health records, copies of their medical prescriptions from the health clinics and specialists as well as their international vaccination booklets are kept in the handbags during the journey. They are also to take with them sufficient medical supplies for six weeks, besides avoiding from exposure to extreme weather conditions. This year, 20 medical officers made up of 6 doctors and 14 nurses were assigned to give medical services joining the Brunei Darussalam Haj Management delegation in Mekkah.
