BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

In order to further strengthen the partnership between Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB and the Ministry of Development signed in 2015, this morning, both parties signed an addendum and variation to the memorandum of Understanding, MOU. The addendum highlights some of the programmes and cooperative work elaborated from the scope and fields of cooperation of the agreement previously signed. Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi Bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education. Signing on behalf of UTB was Professor Doctor Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Meanwhile the Ministry of Development was represented by Doctor Dayang Nor Imtihan bin Haji Abd Razak, the Acting Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Development. Through the signing, the partnership between the two parties will further strengthened by introducing a new postgraduate Study to be offered by UTB to the fresh graduates as well as engineers already working in the industry. The programme aims to enable students to enhance their knowledge and capabilities, and thus satisfy basic education requirements to progress their careers towards becoming professionally qualified, chartered engineers. The ceremony was followed with the presentation of the annual Excellent Staff Awards 2017 including Excellence Awards and the Special Mention in the respective categories for Teaching, Research and Administration which were presented by the Minister of Education. The ceremony coincided with the UTB's Hari Raya Celebration. Also present were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Ghafar, the Acting Minister of Development and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education.
