BELAIT

Belait's Get Together and Junjung Ziarah ceremony accomplished its mission as one of the strongest links between the Monarch and the people. As in the Tutong and Temburong districts, the very close, casual, and warm encounter between the Ruler and the citizens and residents living in the Belait District was the clearest evidence of the harmony among the diverse communities who welcomed His Majesty this morning. The golden opportunity of greeting the Monarch and wishing His Majesty a very happy birthday was a special moment that the people will always cherish. Accompanying His Majesty were, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen. Belait is the country's biggest district in terms of size. It has more than 80 thousand people living in 8 mukims, with Mukim Kuala Belait having the biggest population of more 36 thousand. Also grabbing the much cherished opportunity to greet and meet His Majesty were senior citizens and persons with special abilities from Pusat Ehsan, Smarters association, Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh and the Association of Disabled Children, KACA. The wellbeing and welfare of these groups are top priorities of His Majestyt's government towards building an inclusive community that unites them with the mainstream community. Belait is the country's main oil and gas producing district. Revenues for the oil and gas industry are the main generator of the country's development and the top quality of the people's life. Personnel of the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Force in Lumut and the Gurkha Reserve Unit in Seria also greeted His Majesty in the Junjung Ziarah ceremony. The security forces play a very big role in protecting and maintaining the country's peace and security. The participation and involvement of all the communities in the district reflect the people's harmony, unity and close cooperation in supporting and upholding their loving and caring Monarch. The Get Together and Junjung Ziarah ceremony ended with a Luncheon at the Dewan Santap near the official residence of the Belait District Officer. During the luncheon, His Majesty consented to cut the birthday cake and received a Pasambah. Doa selamat was read by Awang Haji Kaharuddin bin Haji Ali, the Belait District Shari'ah Subordinate Court Judge. Before leaving the ceremony, His Majesty received in the Junjung Ziarah, members of the Executive Committee of His Majesty's 71st Birthday Celebration in the Belait District. His Majesty wise leadership that is based on the Islamic Malay Monarchy has brought much progress and development to the country, especially in areas such religion, education, health, communications and social not only in the towns but also in the suburban and rural areas.
