It’s either a stroke of genius or the biggest mistake of his life.
Trucker Kenny Ollerenshaw got a bizarre tattoo on his chest which makes him look like he has a giant head with a tiny body which is driving a steering wheel.
When the 36-year-old flexes his muscles his unique ‘interactive’ inking moves with him, as if he is manoeuvring his own body with the tattoo’d controls.
It took four hours to do the current piece and is not even fully completed yet, says the father-of-one.
The first person he showed was his young son and pictures of the tattoo have now gone viral, being shared more than a million times on Facebook.
Cumbrian trucker, Kenny, admits his first tattoo ‘hurt a bit’.
The 36-year-old said: ‘He thought it was cool but I wasn’t expecting it to go viral, it’s all gone a bit mad and my son has told my mum that I’m famous.
‘I keep looking at it in the mirror and thinking it’s just crazy. You should see what happens when I tense my pecs.
‘My family are all on board with it. The way I look at it is if people don’t like it then they don’t have to wear it.
‘It has 1.1 million views and 2million likes on Facebook – and it isn’t even finished yet.
‘It’s what I’d call an interactive tattoo and it’s more of a shocker than anything else. It’s got the ability to make an entire room of people smile and laugh and get them talking.
‘The first three hours were okay but the last hour started to hurt. I think I was running out of adrenaline.
‘You’re supposed to fuel up on sugar before you have one done but all I’d eaten were a couple of burgers.’
Kenny, who lives in Silloth, Cumbria, had his tattoo created at Immortal Art Studio in Carlisle.
Tattooist, Richard Batey, was the man behind the extraordinary design and got his inspiration from his time working in the car industry.
The 43-year-old said: ‘It’s the first of its kind in the world. I have a good mechanical understanding from working in the car industry.
‘When Kenny came in he was up for having this done as a chest piece. The result is just the start. There’s a long way to go.’
