Ncawmc Holds First Plenary Meeting

The National Commission for the Advancement of Women, Mothers and Children organized on Jul 26 its first annual plenary meeting for 2017 to discuss the improvement of the organisational structure of the commission at central and provincial levels.

 

Discussed at the meeting also included the translation into reality of vision 2030 and the national strategies on gender equity, mother and child affairs 2016-2025 and the 8th five-year national action plan on gender equity and the action plan on the prevention and eradication of violence against women and children 2014-2020.

 

Mr Sonexay Siphandon, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the National Commission for the Advancement of Women, Mothers and Children has urged to the participants to attach importance to brainstorming the improvement of the organisational structure of the committee at all levels and ensure the improvement is in line with the Prime Minister’s Decree No 110 and the Decision No 58 of the national commission, and accelerate the achievement of vision 2030 and other national strategies related to women and child affairs.

 

Vision 2030 is designed to ensure women rights and the development of gender equity and eliminate all forms of discrimination against women in all areas, and ensure women fully participate in politic, economic and socio-culture and family fife.
