A man has pleaded guilty to sending a grossly offensive electronic message after he called his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend a ‘fat-belled codhead’.

Mark Seddon, 48, sent the message to his former partner via WhatsApp, reports the Blackpool Gazette.

Seddon, a pest controller, pleaded guilty at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court and was fined £500 with £85 costs, ordered to pay £50 victims’ surcharge and handed a two-year restraining order.

John McLaren, defending, said that the relationship breakdown had not gone well. Seddon said he had been paying back money his girlfriend owed her mother.
