BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
Modern technology is creating a growing divide in families, said Imams in yesterday's Friday sermon, as Brunei prepares to celebrate Family Day tomorrow.
Several solutions were - proposed to address this problem, including moderate use of technology at home, holding mass family prayers and reciting the Al-Quran together.
The sermon also counselled families to bond by having regular meals together, to increase communication and social interaction. Husbands were encouraged set an example by showing love and kindness to their wives.
The sermon concluded by reminding Muslims to be aware of their roles, duties and responsibilities within the family, and to carry them out diligently in order to be blessed within a happy, harmonious family unit.
