Indera Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Land Rover in Brunei Darussalam, launched its All-New Discovery at Taridak D’Pantai Café, Jerudong Polo and Country Club, Jerudong.

The reveal of the fifth generation of Discovery was attended by more than 100 guests comprising of customers, business associates, the management of Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd and Baiduri Finance Bank, members of the Four Wheel Drive Association, members of the Brunei Jet Ski Association and Mr. William Martin, the President of Britain-Brunei Business Forum. Also present was His Excellency Richard Lindsay, the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam for officiating the launch.

Coming to Brunei in two variants; the All-New Discovery HSE and the All-New Discovery SE possess 340PS - 3.0 litre V6 Petrol Engine. Any variants of the All-New Discovery embody Land Rover’s drive to go Above and Beyond, combining British desirability with an unstoppable spirit of adventure. It’s an authentic, three-row, seven-seat SUV with unbeatable capability and versatility.

“The All-New Discovery is the King of the hill; able to ride through all terrains and all weather conditions. Be it a slippery road during rainy season, muddy roadways in rural areas, or sand driving on the beach, the All-New Discovery is the vehicle for you with its Terrain Response System and with the Electronic Air Suspension, it allows innovative new access features to enhance versatility and ease of use,” said Mr. Alfred Yong Foh Sen, the General Manager of Indera Motors Sdn Bhd.

The launch of the All-New Discovery was not just a simple unveiling; it showcased the true capabilities and highlighted the key features of the revolutionary SUV. Witnessed by guests during the launch, the All-New Discovery proved to be able to go through the loose sand of the Jerudong beach, passed through the custom-made obstacles and wade through water of 900mm depth with ease and all of these were done with seven adults sitting comfortably in the vehicle.

In collaboration with Hai Hwang Trading Company, the sole distributor of Yamaha Marine products, the use of the automatic deployable towbar of the All-New Discovery was also featured with a jet ski. The maximum weight at which the All-New Discovery can tow is at 3,500kg, making it the class-leading in the segment. The hook-on and hook-release process are extremely simple, that they can be done via a touchscreen at the front console.

During the launch event, guests took the opportunity to do test-drive through modified terrains on the beach in order to experience the unrivalled capabilities of the vehicle. The fifth-generation model benefits from Land Rover’s strong, safe and light full-size SUV architecture, delivering comfort and adaptability like no other.
