Nasyid and Dakwah Song Competition for Secondary Schools and Colleges throughout the Country

The Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School won both categories in the 31st Nasyid and Dakwah Song Competition for Secondary Schools and Colleges Nationwide. The final was held this morning. The competition, organised by the Co-Curriculum Education Department, Ministry of Education, aimed to attract the student's interest and provide opportunity to engage actively in dakwah songs with pure values of Islam and universal humanity.
Such a competition aimed to raise awareness and develop highly goodwill to the students in appreciating as well as practising Islamic teachings, apart from supporting the Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB Concept in everyday life through nasyid and dakwah songs. The Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School emerged champion in the Dakwah Song for Male Category after defeating 4 other secondary schools.
The Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School also defeated 4 other secondary schools for the Female Nasyid Category.
Prizes were presented by Awang Roslan bin Haji Tajaah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. 10 teams competed in the finals. The Mahad Islam Brunei, Tutong won the Best Dakwah Song Performance and Lyrics. Meanwhile the Best Nasyid Performance and Lyrics went to the Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in Tutong. The Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School students were chosen as the winner of The Best Solo Dakwah Song and Nasyid. The contest was organised by the Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary school.
