Sultan's Scholar Development Programme Reflection Ceremony

23 students of the 'Sultan's Scholar' Scholarship Scheme have ended the development programme for the scholarship students of the 2017 Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Sultan's Scholar. A briefing on the outcome of the programme was held at a 'Sultan's Scholar' Development Programme Reflection Ceremony this morning. It was held at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.
Present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education as the Chairman of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Directors and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as the Deputy Chairman One.
Also present were Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Salleh, the Attorney General, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Roselan bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, who is also a member of the Steering Committee and the 'Sultan's Scholar' Scholarship Scheme Work Committee, and Dato Paduka Awang Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny, Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
The Sultan's Scholar Development Programme comprises of two components namely, Singapore Leg and Brunei Leg. The Singapore Leg Programme is implemented in collaboration with the High Commission of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore Civil Service College. The programme provides opportunity and exposure to participants on the implementation of the Singaporean Civil Service Machinery. Meanwhile, the Brunei Leg programme comprises of two components namely leadership training and team building.
The programme is conducted in collaboration with the Trandie Marina Resorts Sendirian Berhad. The second component is the induction programme to the government agencies and private sector. The Development Programme's initiatives are hoped to make the Sultan's Scholar Scholarship Scheme recipients to be more sensitive on the country's development, ready to serve His Majesty's government as well as to enhance their capability which plays a major role in driving the country's transformation process.
