BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The National Security Committee through the Security Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne will be conducting a number of security exercises this month and the coming September. The objectives of these exercises are to prepare and enhance the capabilities and interoperability of agencies involved by adopting a "whole-of-nation" approach in handling and mitigating security risks and challenges that may be encountered.

The first exercise will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post in Kuala Belait. Members of the public are advised to pre-plan their journeys to avoid any inconvenience. The next exercise will be conducted on the 19th of August 2017 at Brunei International Airport in Berakas. Commercial flights will not be affected.

However, passengers are advised to make early arrangements to avoid any inconvenience. Members of the public staying or working close to the vicinity of these exercises are advised not to be alarmed by the movement of security or uniformed personnel, including vehicles, aircraft, sea patrols as well as the sound of explosives and pyrotechnics used during the exercises. Members of the public are also advised to follow instructions given by the security personnel. For any enquiries, members of the public may contact the State Control Centre, Royal Brunei Police Force at 2459500 extensions 444.
