The Radio Services at the Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) will play host to the 'Budaya Tiga Serumpun' programme, one of the cultural activities of Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was inked in 2006.
To mark the beginning of the programme involving RTB, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), a meeting was conducted yesterday and were attended by Pengiran Ahmad bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Acting Head of the Radio Programme Division at RTB; Tuan Haji Ayub Syed Haji Mohamad, head of the RTM delegation; and Lira Rossin, head of the RRI delegation; as well as representatives from RTB, RTM and RRI.
The meeting aimed to ensure the continuous implementation of programmes and efficiency towards improving programmes in the aspects of concept and content.
Apart from publications of drama and 'pantun', RTB continues to implement a number of radio programmes such as the 'Mukun Se Borneo', 'Titian Senada', 'Kenangan Mengusik Jiwa', 'Hubungan Muhibbah', and many other radio programme exchanges.
Since the signing of the MoU in 2006, a number of programmes have been co-produced by the three stations, along with exchange visits between the broadcasting bodies that were filled with various activities, leading to the sharing of culture, art as well as work placement of station broadcasters.
This year's 'Budaya Tiga Serumpun' includes two programmes of 'Berbalas Pantun' with an Aidilfitri and community theme, which will be recorded at the Community Hall of the Kampong Parit Mini Festival Park in Mukim Pengkalan Batu, during the 'Bedudun' activity organised by RTB. 'Seri and Friends', a Radio Drama carried out by actors from all three stations will also be broadcast.
The delegations from both RTM and RRI also conducted visits to a number of interesting places in the country during their stay.
RTB hopes that with the cooperation of the three stations, it will be a forum for maintaining the cultural traditions of the Malay community, sharing of knowledge and current activities, improving the quality of broadcasting and fostering unity and solidarity.
