A man in Canada has set a new world record – for wearing a massive ‘bee beard’.

Juan Carlos Noguez Ortiz, who works at a honeybee farm in Ontario, wore the beard (or dare we say… ‘bee-rd’) for more than an hour.

He smashed the previous record by nearly eight minutes and claimed a new Guinness World Record crown for himself on Thursday (August 31).

The video shows his entire face covered in the stripy insects as he sits patiently to claim first prize – despite getting stung more than once.

But Ortiz admitted afterwards that he’s a novice at this sort of stunt, having only tried it out twice before setting the record.

100,000 bees were brought from beekeping business Dickey Bee Honey Inc. for the stunt, which was filmed to promote new movie Blood Honey.

Unsurprisingly, Blood Honey looks like it features a lot of bees, a lot of honey and a lot of gore.
