Several participants including seven delegates from the Philippines and one from Thailand attended a workshop at the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Autism Centre in Kampong Jangsak.
According to Malou, a representative from SMARTER Brunei, the workshop aimed to share the centre's expertise in managing autism cases.
Those who attended the workshop recognised the centre's programmes as the best and expressed interest in learning from the centre, added the representative.
The workshop sought to showcase Brunei's ability in managing cases of autism through SMARTER's unique, low cost programmes and to further promote awareness in the region.
The participants also paid visits to the SMARTER Brunei Autism Centre for Adults (BACA) and Early Development Growth and Enabling (EDGE) Centre and attended lectures, workshops and classes as well as participated in their community adaptation programmes.
The workshop started on April 26 and ended on April 30.
