Working Visit to Inspect the Golden Jubilee Celebration Preparation

​His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, this morning conducted a working visit to inspect the preparation of the upcoming Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne, specifically the launching of the Eco Corridor Park, Sungai Kedayan and Get Together and Junjung Ziarah Ceremony by the four districts.

 

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who is also the Patron of the Advisory Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, was greeted on arrival by the Co-Chairpersons of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd. Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance. Also greeting His Royal Highness was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Minister of Development.

 

His Royal Highness was then ushered to the meeting room, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Building for a briefing which began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a Doa Selamat read by Ahmad Syafiq bin Haji Osman, Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque Affairs Officer.

 

This was followed by briefings from the Minister of Home Affairs as the Co-Chairmen of Jawatankuasa Sektoral Keraian Daerah-Daerah dan Mukim and the Minister ofDevelopment as the Co-Chairman of Jawatankuasa Sektoral Perasmian dan Peringatan dan Kenang-kenangan.

 

After the briefing, His Royal Highness then proceeded to the launching site of the Eco Corridor Park, Sungai Kedayan; and the site for the Get Together and Junjung Ziarah Ceremony by the four districts.

 

Upon arrival at the launching site of the Eco Corridor Park, Sungai Kedayan, His Royal Highness was briefed by Haji Mohd. Salleh bin Haji Abd. Karim, Acting Director Drainage and Sewerage, Public Works Department on the programme that will be conducted during the launching ceremony.

 

His Royal Highness was then proceeded to the site area for the Get Together and Junjung Ziarah Ceremony where His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will meet and greet the people from the four districts.

 

The Eco Corridor site has an area of nine hectares and is part of the 2011 Master Plan Development projects of Bandar Seri Begawan, which is under the Regeneration of Eco Corridor River banks Project. Amongst the objectives of the Eco Corridor are to mitigate flooding for Sungai Kedayan catchment areas; to improve connectivity and promote culture as well as a healthy lifestyle for the public; and to provide a platform for future economic development.

 

This working visit reflects the concerns of His Royal Highness in ensuring that all events for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's accession on the throne will run smoothly and will become remembered through the ages.
