First Haj Flight Returns

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
The Brunei International Airport this afternoon was filled with family members and relatives who were there to welcome the arrival of Brunei Darussalam's haj pilgrims from the holy land. The first flight carrying 254 haj pilgrims arrived at 3:16 this afternoon.
Welcoming the Haj pilgrims at the arrival hall of Brunei International Airport were Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, the Minister of Health. Also present were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and His Excellency Hisham bin Abdul Wahab bin Abdullah Zaraa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam.
The first flight carried pilgrims using the Darussalam Holdings Sdn. Bhd and Straits Central Agencies (B) Sdn. Bhd haj packages; Haj Medical officers as well as officers from haj services operating companies and Haj officers from the Ministry of Health. To bless their return, the doa selamat was read by Awang Ahmad Syafiq bin Haji Osman, Mosque Affairs Officer, Ministry of Religious Affairs. The second Haj flight is scheduled to arrive tomorrow at 2:55 in the afternoon.
