Sending Off Ceremony For IMT Personnel

8 Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel and an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force will be joining the 14th International Monitoring Team peacekeeping mission in Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines. A sending off ceremony was held this morning at the Bolkiah Garrison.
The national flag was handed over to the Head of Contingent by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Mohammad Tawih bin Abdullah, the Commander of RBAF. The delegation is led by Lieutenant Colonel (udara) Radhuan bin Haji Abdul Hamid. Brunei Darussalam has been a member of the IMT since 2004. Also present were Assistant Commissioner of Police Awang Haji Hasan bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad as the Acting Commissioner of Police, Retired Captain Dato Paduka Abdul Rahman Bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Philippines to Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony ran concurrently with a doa selamat ceremony at the Ad-Difa' Surau, Bolkiah Garrison. The ceremony began with the reading of Al-Quran verses, followed by a mass Fardhu Zohor prayer and doa selamat.
