Handover of National Flag to the Country's Contingent

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council in a sabda urged the country's athletes who will compete in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Ashgabat Turkmenistan, to not take their participation in the games lightly. His Royal Highness stressed that the athletes should give their best apart from having high discipline and commitment as national athletes. His Royal Highness believed that this could improve the athlete's quality and efforts, apart from enhancing their capabilities in achieving success.
The text of His Royal Highness' sabda was read by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, the Minister of Health as the Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports at the national flag handover ceremony to the country's contingent this morning. His Royal Highness added that other than commitment and discipline, the athletes should remain focused, competitive, and have the mental strength in facing such competition, and abide by the Anti-Doping regulations enforced by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to maintain the country's good name.
The national flag was handed over to Colonel Zahrin bin Haji Zunaidi, the contingent's Chef De Mission. The country's contingent will depart for Ashgabat, Turkmenistan tomorrow. 21 events will be competes in the games that will take place from the 17th to the 27th of this month.
