Sorry, the Ikea toilet brush named ‘Farage’ is fake

You might have seen some perfect Have I Got News For You? material doing the rounds recently – an Ikea toilet brush named ‘Farage’.

Of course, Nigel Farage is a disliked (in some circles) pro-Brexit politician who probably isn’t exactly revered by Swedish furniture giant Ikea, but it turns out they didn’t name a toilet brush in his honour.

Some things are too good to be true though, and it appears the Farage brush is a photoshop job.

If you look carefully at the image above, you will notice the word ‘FARAGE’ is a very slightly different shade to the words above it.

Still don’t believe us? Head over to Ikea.com and search for ‘Farage’, you’ll see there are no results.

There is, however, a toilet brush named BOLMEN which is in fact the brush featured in the picture.

Several news sites covered the story that Ikea were low-key slandering the former Ukip leader, but it isn’t true.

Bolmen is actually a lake in Sweden, so maybe they were slagging off a body of water for some bizarre reason?

Following the Brexit vote Gillian Drakeford, the head of Ikea in the UK, said the company cannot rule out increasing the price of their products due to the turmoil which is due to hit imports following the country’s exit from the European Union.
