The Naubat Opening ceremony was held late this afternoon at the Lapau in the capital. The Naubat had been closed for 20 days following the passing away of Pengiran Kerma Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Wahab bin Pengiran Sabtu Kemaluddin on the 1st of September.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.

The Naubat Opening ceremony commenced with the reading of Tahlil led by Yang DiMuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

The Doa Tahlil and 'Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam' were read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Meanwhile, the mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. In attendance were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Membars of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, and Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang.

The ceremony concluded with Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz making a sabda instructing Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa (Retired) Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud to seek audience and inform His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam that the Naubat Opening Ceremony following the passing away of Pengiran Kerma Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Wahab bin Pengiran Sabtu Kemaluddin has been duly carried out.
