DARe Held Enterprise Open Day at Jefri Bolkiah College of Engineering

DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) held an Enterprise Open Day (EOD) event from 8.00am to 5.00pm on Friday, 25 March 2016 at IBTE MKJB (Jefri Bolkiah College of Engineering) in Kuala Belait.

 

The aim of the Enterprise Open Day was to provide assistance and services to budding entrepreneurs and existing businesses, provide talks, offer workshops as well as give opportunities for enterprises to log in any business related issues, suggestions or inquiries to the Business Helpdesk.

 

The several agencies present at EOD to provide assistance and offer services include Wawasan 2035 Secretariat, the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Unit under the Prime Minister’s Office, FAST Centre (FDI Action and Support Centre), Registry of Companies and Business Names (ROCBN), Revenue Division, and Royal Customs & Excise (RCED) under the Ministry of Finance, Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO), E-Government National Centre (EGNC), Labour Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), Baiduri Bank Berhad, Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP), Authoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), Authority Building of Control and Construction Industry
(ABCi), Town and Country Planning (TCP), Land Department and the Department of Water Services under the Ministry of Development, OneBiz, Municipal Department, District Office, the Department of Electrical Services (DES) and the Local Business Development (LBD) under the Energy and Industry, Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO) and BAG Networks.

 

Similar to the previous Enterprise Open Day that was held in January, the event conducted several talks and provided one to one clinics.

 

The talks were conducted by Wawasan Secretariat, EODB Unit, DARe and BruIPO.

 

Whereas the one to one clinics provided advice on ‘Financial Management’ by EIDPMO, ‘Intellectual Property Protection’ by BruIPO and ‘SME Financing’ by Financial Institutions.

 

Since the start of the first Enterprise Open Day in January 2016, the Business Support Centre (BSC) under DARe have started operations on 1st March 2016, where it encompasses the assistance and services provided by the Business Helpdesk, and several government agencies.

 

The role of the BSC is to provide a single portal for enterprises to access and submit business applications, obtain business advice, information and, learn about or apply for the available SME Programmes, grants and loans under DARe.

 

DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) is a statutory body with the aim to nurture and support local enterprises
from Start-up to Growth.

 

This agency will work closely with ministries, government and nongovernment agencies locally and abroad with the aim to foster growth of business enterprises and thus increase GDP contribution.
