Exhibition in Conjunction with 27th Teachers' Day

The exhibition in conjunction with the 27th Teachers' Day Celebration showcased the achievements and contributions of teachers for the success of the students in various levels covering the latest programmes and a number of proud achievements at the national, regional and international levels. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam viewed the exhibition at the Lobby of the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Before viewing the exhibition, His Majesty watched the various performances by Primary and Secondary school students.
The exhibition showcased a number of segments. Among the attractions was an exhibit of the excerpts of titahs by His Majesty and Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien directed towards the theme of this year's Teachers' Day celebration, "Kecemerlangan Guru Teras Kejayan Ummah" or Teachers Excellence, the Core of the Ummah's Success. The exhibition was organised by the Department of Co-curriculum Education, JPK.
The Ministry of Education showcased a number of knowledge programmes conducted in preparation of education infrastructure and services towards efforts in enhancing and developing the field of education. Towards Wawasan Brunei 2035, the Ministry of Education is making efforts to realise the country's desire in implementing the practice of subject diversity in the Education System for the 21st century.
The exhibition by the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs showcased various broad learning methods including fluency in Arabic Language. Aside from that, a number of jawi calligraphy produced by the department was also exhibited.
The Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE highlighted a number of courses offered under the IBTE study programme. IBTE has a high potential; to further develop especially through technical education training that can generate a skilled workforce towards nation development.
The Public Higher Education institute, IPTA exhibit, which is also joined by Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Politeknik Brunei and the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College highlighted the achievements of the lecturers, academic officers and teachers involved in upgrading education and research at the higher education level.
This year's celebration was also participated by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD which showcased the Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future, BIBD ALAF Programme that supports the development and progress of students. The programme aimed to provide support for the students' development and progress aside from helping them to gain self-confidence and enhance communications skills.
Prior to leaving the ceremony, His Majesty watched a silat and wushu performance by students from the Sports School. His Majesty's presence is a motivation to teachers to continue to be proactive, progressive and develop the human potential in making teachers as holistic individuals, who will produce students who are not only accepting but also as an explorer of knowledge.
