​His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also consented to send congratulatory messages to His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Presiden of the Federal Republic of Germany and to Her Excellency Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany on the Occasion of the Day of German Unity.

In the message to His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Majesty expressed his great appreciation for the warm friendship shared between the two countries and greatly valued the cooperation in many fields, and looked forward to enhancing these valuable ties in the years ahead.

While in his message to Her Excellency Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Majesty wished her and the people of the Federal Republic of Germany a happy celebration, and looked forward to renewed opportunities to strengthen the warm friendship and the much-valued cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Federal Republic of Germany in both bilaterally and internationally.

In ending the messages, His Majesty extended his kindest regards and best wishes and for the continued good health and happiness of His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany and Her Excellency Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Germany and its people.
