There is no dividing wall between the Monarch and the people. The monarch and people together hold a huge trust and pillar of life which is just and loyal, must be maintained and continued to be nurtured through the ages. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made the titah at the Audience Ceremony in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne, yesterday morning.

His Majesty stressed, the monarch's obligation is to be just to the people, while the people's obligation is to be loyal to the monarch. A monarch has the obligation to know the people's difficulties and comfort, on the other hand, the people are required to be sympathetic to the monarch. This is what is called, 'reciprocal obligation' for the well-being of all. The audience ceremony which took place at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday morning, commenced with a Ceremonial Parade. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam attended the ceremony. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam attended the ceremony.

The arrival of their Majesties was led by two Manteri Hulubalang. One carried the Pemuras and Karga, and the other beared the Kalasak and Kampilan accompanied by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Aluddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar as well as the Perhiasan Tunggal.

Their Majesties then received the Royal Salute, accompanied by a 21-gun salute.

His Majesty inspected the Ceremonial Parade mounted by 323 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Women Personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Royal Brunei Police Force and Women Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. His Majesty is also the Inspector General of Police.

The Ceremonial Parade was followed by the Audience Ceremony at Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana.

50 years ago, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam ascended the throne as the 29th Sultan of Brunei Darussalam.

Also present at the Audience Ceremony were;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Abdul 'Azim;

- His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Wakeel;

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Norhayati;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah;

- And Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Rakiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah; as well as other members of the royal family.

Also present were Majesty's special guests, His Royal Highness Prince Edward Antony Richard Louis, The Earl of Wessex as the personal representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Her Royal Highness Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The Audience Ceremony in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne commenced with the Sembah Kesyukuran by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince. His Royal Highness was accompanied by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar who represented the Royal Family and people bestowed with titles; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong who represented the government and the citizens.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in a sabda said His Majesty's wise leadership in ruling the country has been proven with the existence of high and strong spirit of solidarity among the citizens and residents of the country. The aspiration from the late Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and the continuous determination of His Majesty itself with the blessing of Allah SWT has led Brunei Darussalam towards being a country of Baldatun Tayibatun Warabun Ghafur with a core of the Malay Islamic Monarchy Concept.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in his titah expressed gratefulness to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala that with His blessing, the country is able to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the monarch's accession to the throne in a peaceful, tranquil and harmonious atmosphere.

The DOA Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

Their Majesties then proceeded to the Fire and Rescue Department in Bandar Seri Begawan for the Procession around the capital. Accompanying Their Majesties were Their Majesties children.

The Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne symbolises His Majesty's strong leadership based on the Malay Islamic Monarchy mould that has been inherited since 600 years ago, and this marked another grand history in the Sultanate.
