Two die as lightning strikes school in Aceh

LHOKSEUMAWE, ACEH
Two people died over the weekend and 11 others were injured when lightning struck a school building in Lhokseumawe, Aceh.
A spokesperson for the Lhokseumawe police, Comr. Ahzan, said as quoted by Antara that most of the victims were students of Al Alaq Dewantara junior high school.
The lightning struck a tree near the school's cafeteria, where the students were having their lunch.
Eyewitnesses said that several students who were in the cafeteria felt electrical currents going through their bodies. Some of the victims were taken to a hospital operated by PT Arun Natural Gas Liquefaction.
"Two people were killed, one is in critical condition, and 10 are receiving treatment," Ahzan said.
The victims were identified as Muhammad, 50, a becak (pedicab) driver and M. Zaki, 13, a student of the school.
