Russian Navy Pacific Fleet Hosted a Reception

MUARA, BRUNEI-MUARA
The Russian Navy Pacific Fleet hosted a reception last evening in conjunction with the ongoing Asean Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) Maritime Security and Counter Terrorism Exercise at the Muara Port.
Attending the reception onboard the anti-submarine ship Admiral Vinogradov were Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit and the Ambassador of Russia to Brunei Darussalam, H. E. Vladlen Semivolos.
Also present were Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah and Brigadier General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps.
Captain Alexander Potapov, chief of the Russian fleet, said it was a historic moment for the Russian Navy Pacific Fleet as this is its first participation in the ADMM-Plus.
He hoped that the fleet's participation would help develop military technical cooperation between two countries and promote economic and political relations between Brunei and Russia.
