A teacher at the Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College today received the Princess Maha Chakri Award of Thailand in recognition of her professional work in teaching Chemistry.
Lim Soh Ngo accepted the award from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during the Second Princess Maha Chakri Award Ceremony in Bangkok. Eleven other people representing the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) member countries also received similar award. Each received a medal, certificate and cheque worth 10-thousand U-S Dollars for their contribution in education.
The Award is an honour to the highly-dedicated teachers in Southeast Asia whose accomplishments make significant contributions to education and human development. They deserve international recognition. Aside from supporting and promoting development of the teaching profession and educational development, the honour also strengthen international relations in the field of education. Also present at the ceremony was Datin Paduka Doctor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.
