SINGAPORE

The police have arrested the suspect seen in a video assaulting a man at Golden Mile Complex early on Wednesday (Oct 11) morning.

The video, which has since gone viral over social media, shows the 25-year-old victim lying motionless on the floor outside a shuttered shop, while another man wearing a white T-shirt and light grey trousers kicks and stomps on him repeatedly.

In the 48-second clip, the assailant can also be seen punching another man in a black top nearby, before returning to stomp on the head of the first victim several times.

Bystanders can also be heard exclaiming during the incident.

The police told TODAY on Saturday (Oct 14) that they were alerted to a case of voluntarily causing grievous hurt at 5001 Beach Road at 3.07am on Wednesday. A 27-year-old man was subsequently arrested late on Saturday night.

The victim, believed to be a Singaporean, was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital following the attack. He is believed to be suffering from serious head and facial injuries.

Police say investigations are ongoing.
