Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) says its statement alleging Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had expressed support for hudud was not misleading.

According to PBDSB, it was a general public knowledge based on her statement made early this year.

“It was the talk of the town when PKR president made a statement expressing it support to hudud.

“It was published February 10, 2017 by New Strait Times, which titled ‘PKR declares support for PAS hudud-linked bill to be tabled, debated in the Parliament’.

“Amid strong opposition by Democratic Action Party (DAP) on the issue, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said her party recognised PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s rights as a parliamentarian to submit the Bill.

“Dr Wan Azizah however admitted that PKR maintained its reservations on ways to improve the Syariah courts, and would await Hadi’s explanation during the tabling of the Bill before reaching a final stand on the matter,” PBDSB said in a press statement today.

PBDSB was responding to state PKR chairman Baru Bian’s statement yesterday that refuted PBDSB president Cobbold John Lusoi’s allegation.

It said it has on several statements stipulated clearly the party’s stand, which is neither BN or PH.

“PBDSB is clearly for Sarawakians and a platform for its Dayak community. Dayak for Dayak. We only answer to the Dayak people and only concerned about the well-being of the Dayak and also Sarawakians’ rights in general.

“PBDSB has also made it clear to DAP, PKR and the PH regime in a press statement recently, where PBDSB stand as a pure local Sarawak party.

“PBDSB is all about Sarawak and in return asks Baru Bian, when will he join the Sarawak team to fight for our Dayak people?”
