The Decorated Vehicles Procession, Opening of the Eco-Corridor as well as Junjung Kasih and Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne will take place at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in the capital on the 22nd of this month. To ensure the smooth running of the event, a full rehearsal was held yesterday morning.

Among those in attendance were; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Yang Di-Pertua Adat Istiadat Negara; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs as Co-Chairman for the Celebration and District/Mukim Events Sectoral Committee; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Nawawi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd Taha, the Private and Confidential Secretary of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as Co-Chairmen of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne Executive Committee.

Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohamad Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health as Co-Chairmen for the Celebration and District/Mukim Events Sectoral Committee and the Inauguration and Commemorative Sectoral Committee. Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education; and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Grand Chamberlain.

Among the itinerary for that day includes the procession of decorated vehicles and bicycles where government ministries, private companies and individuals will take part in the event. Singing and special performances will also enliven the event to express the citizens and residents' gratitude.

Meanwhile, the Opening of the Sungai Kedayan Eco-Corridor and the Junjung Kasih and Kesyukuran Ceremony will take place after the decorated vehicles procession. For the public's convenience, there is several accesses that leads to the Eco-Corridor; from the Fire and Rescue Department near the Edinburgh Bridge, from Kampung Sumbiling Lama, Istana Darussalam, from the Promenade nearby the Horizon, from the parking areas of Kampung Limbongan and Kampung Ujong Bukit as well as the Eco-Corridor pedestrian bridge.

For the Junjung Kasih and Kesyukuran Ceremony, a number of camps have been set up for the citizens and residents from all four districts throughout the Eco-Corridor Promenade. During the event, water-related activities will also further enliven the ceremony. Members of the public are welcomed to attend the event this Sunday to convey junjung kasih as well as gratitude towards His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
