Smuggling Case

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

The Brunei Muara District Branch Reserve Team 'C' Company, Operation Department of the Brunei Royal Police Force arrested 42-year-old local man who was suspected smuggling contraband goods in the country.

 

The contraband goods was smuggled through backtrail in Junjungan area. During the arrest, 64 carton of cigarettes were confiscated. If found guilty one will be fined not less than 6 time and not more than 20 times of the value tax of the goods confiscated. Failure to pay the fine the offender will be put in prison depends on the court's ruling. The police force advises the public not to get involved in any unlawful activities in the country. Members of the public are urged to report any information regarding criminal activities by contacting the police hotline 993 or nearby Police Station.
