Decorated Vehicles Procession

The Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne, recorded another historic moment for the country with the Sungai Kedayan Eco-Corridor being officially named as the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas. Located in the centre of the capital, the park will become the town's iconic identity that portrays a message of the site as a world-class waterfront area. The Naming Ceremony of the Park took place in a harmonious atmosphere, not only witnessed by tens of thousands of citizens and residents in the country at the official site, but also through Radio Television Brunei's lives broadcast. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam officiated the ceremony. Earlier, His Majesty attended the Decorated Vehicles Procession which took place at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in Bandar Seri Begawan.

 

Along the roads starting from the Royal Regalia Building until Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar' Ali Saifuddien in the capital, some two thousand students from the Ministry of Education waved miniature Brunei Darussalam flags to greet the arrival of the monarch. The beating of the hadrah resounded to further enliven His Majesty's arrival.

 

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs, who is also the Co-Chairman of the Sectoral Committee for the Celebration and District/Mukim Events and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance, as the Co-Chairmen of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne's Executive Committee.

 

Also welcoming His Majesty were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Minister of Development; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohamad Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health; and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Grand Chamberlain, as the Co-Chairmen of the Sectoral Committee for the Celebration and District/Mukim Events and Inauguration and Commemoration Sectoral Committee.

 

Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

 

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

 

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;

 

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah;

 

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and other members of the royal family.

 

The procession was led by the Decorated Vehicle from the Prime Minister's Office which portrays the achievements made through the wise reign of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in the country's development and administration system, in line with wawasan Brunei 2035 by focusing on three main areas namely highly educated and skilled people, high quality of life and a dynamic and sustainable economic growth.

 

36 vehicles and 11 bicycles took part in the procession representing the ministries, departments, private agencies, companies and individuals.

 

The decorated vehicles participated by the ministries and departments showcased the country's achievements and developments in various fields. Among them are the developments of the defence institution, economic and financial sustainability towards strengthening the country's fiscal and economy, maintaining the nation's independence and sovereignty, ensuring the people are united and continues to cooperate for the well-being, safety and peace of the country, instilling and cultivating the locals towards achieving excellence, empowering the official status and practise of Islam, excellent services and enhancing the well-being as well as development of the community's socio-economy.

 

Meanwhile, the decorated vehicles presented by private agencies, companies and individuals showcased the development and modernisation of the telecommunications system, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah establishment policy, portrayal of the unity and harmony of various ethnic groups, the supply network between joint venture companies in the country's oil and gas industry and the production of quality fruits as well as broiler and egg-laying poultry farming. The procession of decorated vehicles was a special pesambah from the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam to His Majesty in together expressing their gratefulness for the wise leadership and integrity of the monarch in bringing the country to a glorious landmark. The presence of the people in enlivening the procession was a clear evidence of the united support for every effort made by the monarch. Therefore, as citizens and residents, we should be united towards preserving the nation's peace and harmony.

 

The procession of decorated vehicles was participated by individuals and Meragang National Housing Scheme Al-Barakah Neighbourhood. Among the performances showcased was a replica of a helicopter, a symbol of people transportation towards Wawasan 2035, Replica of a three wheeled car: a modification idea by a Bruneian citizen; the SEA Games Mascot, Awang Budiman which was used when the country hosted the games and the 'Bunga Simpur', the country's symbol.

 

The decorated vehicles procession was also highlighted with a choir and movements performance from a collaboration of 600 participants comprising youths and school students from the four districts. The performance carried the concept of solidarity at all levels of the society and ethnic groups residing in the country which highly praises the leadership and wisdom of the beloved monarch. The collaboration of the communities in making the performance a success is proof of the solidarity and harmonious life in the nation's communities.

 

At the end of the procession, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and other members of the royal family received the junjung ziarah from performance participants and those attending the Decorated Vehicles Procession event.
