Golden Jubilee Junjung Kasih and Kesyukuran Ceremony

 October 23rd, 2017  |  07:34 AM  |   1286 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

No wall separates the Monarch and the people. This is a reality that was clearly evident during the Junjung Kasih and Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne. Tens of thousands of people thronged the close and personal gathering between His Majesty and the people that took place in a cheerful, harmonious and cordial atmosphere. The presence of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in the junjung ziarah with the country's citizens and residents from the four districts yesterday morning highlighted the unique and special ties between the Monarch and the people.

Tens of thousands of the country's citizens and residents from all walks of life gathered at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas with the sole intention of expressing their gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty.

Tents were erected in lines especially for people from the four districts. Belait district residents were the first to greet His Majesty. The opportunity to meet face to face with their beloved ruler was not to be missed. The people conveyed their joy, gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty, thanking the Monarch for taking the country to the heights of success, progress, prosperity and security the country now enjoys.

Accompanying His Majesty during the junjung kasih ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.

More than three thousand Belait District residents representing Mukims, associations, youths, the Tiong Hwa or Chinese community and the Indian community took part in the gathering. Their presence during the ceremony was evidence of their continuous support and readiness to be steadfast in upholding and supporting His Majesty's leadership and visions at the helm of the government and the nation.

The whole of Brunei Darussalam rejoices in celebrating the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne in peace and harmony. The Junjung Kasih ceremony showed with the most transparent clarity that no wall stood between His Majesty and His Majesty's subjects. This is the reality of the strong relation between the Monarch and the people. Protocol was discarded as His Majesty and the people interacted in a "Monarch and people friendly" atmosphere that the country and people have inherited for 600 years. It is a heritage much valued and respected by the people.

Among the thousands of Belait District residents who grabbed the opportunity to greet the Monarch were Special Needs Persons. They too regarded the golden opportunity as very happy and priceless moments.

For the residents of the Tutong District, meeting and greeting His Majesty was a much awaited opportunity to express thanks and loyalty to their beloved ruler. 30 thousand people representing Mukims, Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, associations, the Tiong Hwa and Indian communities attended the ceremony.

His Majesty is a caring Monarch who takes great pleasure in close interaction with the people. By gracing today's event, His Majesty also showed that the people are always in His Majesty's heart. Being deeply caring and attentive to the needs of the people has made His Majesty much loved and respected by the country's citizens and residents.

The country recorded many more moments of the close rapport between the Monarch and the people. Such cordial and friendly moments belong to His Majesty and the people and will become part of the country's oral tradition and history for the future generations.

Also very interesting was the presence of senior citizens who came to join in enlivening and glorifying the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne.

The gratitude and happiness of Temburong District residents were clearly visible as they gathered to enliven the ceremony. The love for the Monarch who has brought peace, prosperity, stability and security to the country brought them to the capital today, to convey their love and thanks to His Majesty.

The closeness between the ruler and the people symbolises the strength of the Monarchy and the Monarch who is always ready to "walk and cross the field" in the heat of the sun or in the falling rain to meet the people. Around nine hundred Temburong district residents attended yesterday's gathering to greet and meet His Majesty.

Under His Majesty's leadership, Temburong District has achieved progress and enjoyed much development. The Temburong Bridge is among the country's major accomplishments in the construction of infrastructure. When completed, the 30 kilometre long bridge that crosses Brunei waters would facilitate not only communications between Temburong and other districts in the country, but also contribute to economic growth.

His Majesty's wise leadership, especially in the administration of a dynamic, progressive and caring government that looks after the wellbeing of all the country's citizens and residents, was proven by the developments of infrastructure, education, health and national housing schemes as well as a sustainable socio-economic development agenda through Wawasan Brunei 2035 in the planning and implementation of the National Development Plan.

Meanwhile, nearly twenty thousand Brunei-Muara District residents also participated in the event. They represented 17 Mukims, the civil service, uniformed and non-government organisations, students, Chambers of Commerce, ethnic communities and the private sector. Under His Majesty's reign, the country's citizens and residents have enjoyed a high standard of living in both the urban and rural areas.   The development covers all aspects and has brought prosperity, peace and security to the country.

During the historic ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam officiated the launch and naming of the Sungai Kedayan Eco-corridor.

Three thousand balloons were released into the air in conjunction with the official opening of the park.

His Majesty then consented to sign a commemorative plaque, followed by the echo of cheers of "Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik" by 600 students.

His Majesty also received a Pasambah in the form of a book titled, "GREAT HERITAGE" presented by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas is a project under the 10th National Development Plan led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as the Chairman of the National Development Plan Executive Committee.

The implementation mega projects such as the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas and the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge has transformed the landscape of Bandar Seri Begawan into a more modern, dynamic and attractive capital. They also stand as significant landmarks which attract local visitors and foreign tourists alike. The country's citizens and residents from the four districts gathered in the park in display of unity and togetherness in expressing their gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty. It was the history and oral tradition of the Monarch, the people and the country in the making. Most importantly it showcased the truth of His Majesty's words, "Things that make His Majesty happy, also make the people happy."

The participation of all levels of the community at the ceremony showed the strong unity and deep loyalty of the people. The solid involvement, consensus, close cooperation and the strong support of the people further enlivened and glorified the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne. They are definite proof of the people's loyalty to the Monarch and the deep love between the Monarch and the people that continues to live in the hearts of both parties.

The Junjung Kasih and Kesyukuran Ceremony with the Citizens and Residents ended with a Luncheon at the Tarindak d' Seni in the capital.

Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

The country and the people thank Allah the Almighty for blessing them with a sovereign ruler who loves, caring, just and wise. This is the country's greatest blessing, a bounty, or gift from Allah the Most Benevolent. The 50 years of His Majesty's reign is marked with progress and development that benefit all the people. Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik.
