The fifth European Food Festival will be held in the parking area of the National Culture Hall in Vientiane Capital on 7 May.
The fifth European Food Festival aims to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the foundation of the European Union or Europe Day.
This festival will help promote cultural cooperation and tourism in Vientiane and will include numerous activities, especially concerning food, with various food tents designed to promote each country’s most notable characteristics, including drinks such as European wines and beverages, a number of fun activities for kids, and live entertainment.
“The European Food Festival will highlight the sheer variety of restaurants found in Vientiane, which will all be at their creative best, so as to surprise and delight visitors from all ages,” European Union Delegation Charge d’ Affaires Mr Michel Goffin said at a press conference held on 3 May.
More than 25 European restaurants and food vendors will be joining the festival and guests will have the chance to enjoy a journey through the amazing culinary world of Europe.
There are currently more than 120 restaurants invested in by European Nationals across Laos, but most are in Luang Prabang, Vientiane Capital and Champassak Province. These businesses contribute considerably to the promotion of tourism in Laos, local employment and tax payments to the government treasury.
