The Ministry of Education recognises teachers as the most important factor in education hence, the Ministry will continue to invest time and effort to support a quality teaching. This is clearly set out in the national agenda towards wawasan 2035 as a key performance indicator, subsequently in the primary and secondary reflect these and the action in LNCP-(literacy and numeracy coaching programme). LNCP is key to bring about transformational change across schools in Brunei Darussalam.
Therefore, the teaching for English literacy and Mathematics mastery frameworks must be used from this day onwards. In addition, the Teacher Professional Development framework must be aligned with the teaching for English literacy and Mathematics mastery framework. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi Bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education stated the matter during the launching of the 'LNCP stakeholders Engagement'. Yang Berhormat Pehin also said that all programs by his ministry be continually monitored to ensure the intended outcome is achieved.
Earlier, three local teachers undergoing their LNCP shared their positive and success stories in teaching that improved the achievement in teaching and learning process resulting and showcasing LNCP in the need for collaboration with international coaches and local coaches for capacity building as well as improve practice by embedding the mastery frameworks in all Brunei schools.
At the ceremony, the Minister of Education launched the Teaching for English Literacy and Mathematics Mastery Frameworks and presented certificates to 21 more local teachers whom have undergone the LNCP. Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Education; Datin Paduka Doktor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Education; Dr Haji Azman bin Haji Ahmad and Dayang Nadia Lee Siew Hoon binti Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretaries at Ministry of Education.
