The 2-day Semi Finals of the National Quran Reading Musabaqah for Adults 1439Hijrah/2018 began today at the Dewan Muzakarah of the International Convention Centre in Berakas.  The event is to select Quran readers to represent the country at the International Quran Reading Musabaqah.

37 readers, 25 of them Qari or male readers and 12 Qariah or female readers are taking part.  Thirty of them were selected at the national quarter finals at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri, while seven others are from last year's National Quran Reading Musabaqah for Adults Finals 1438 Hijrah/2017.  The announcement of the results and presentation of souvenirs will take place tomorrow at two in the afternoon.   The event is organised annually by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in stages starting from Mosques Zones, and the National Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals.
